During The Next Two Months...

Well, weather is horrendous around here, so I've resorted to a new sport: cleaning up my photo database and retouching each and every photograph that makes it through my new and exceedingly exacting standards. You will be the final judges, of course, and tell me without mercy whether or not a picture is worth it or not. The final post-processing may well yield surprising results, so be ready for about anything...

You will mainly see pictures:

• of winter;
• of Brittany.

Anything else will be dubbed at "Miscellaneous" or something to that effect.

Be ready, people from France: you will often have to tell me where in Brittany a picture was shot! I'm already laughing... with you, of course. Good luck.

Roger Gauthier, The Photographer Who Came From The Cold

• d'hiver ;

  8. Hello Magda, thanks for your nice comment. I had a rapid look at your blog and I'm not sure you have much to learn from me. Anyway, I'm always happy to share any thoughts or tricks or opinions or whatever about photography and image making. So feel free to ask anytime, either about my pictures or yours. Interesting blog you have indeed... BTW, you seem to live in France. If French is your preferred language, you simply say so, as I'm French too - Québécois that is, which is possibly more French than French... :-)))

    Have fun, and a Happy New Year,

    Roger G.

  9. France, Nancy, Phil, Suzanne, Isabella,

    Hi hi hi...

  10. Hello Iracema!

    I would love to see the Amazon, rain or no rain.

    There is snow outside, -12°C, a cold weather... Everything is white.

    Happy New Year :-)

    Poor Google Translation :-(

    Feliz Ano Novo :-)

  11. Good afternoon Roger
    I have a saying for you(my favorite):
    “Photography takes an instant out of time, altering life by holding it still."

    Don't forget ,you never know when you can learn something new, if your mind forget for one instant to see the beauty... this is one of my rules/ principle of life!

    Have also great Holidays and fun for the New year's Eve.See you next year :), nice to meet you again!

  12. Hello Magda!

    Well, you're right here... except when you're not. A great part of my photography takes a moment out of time, then tortures it without end until it doesn't know where it came from!
