From The Archives: Snowfall In Charlevoix

While browsing through my archives, I saw this picture and was reminded that winter would soon be back here. You know what they say about us Québécois: we drive our car and our skidoo at the same speed, as fast as the throttle will allow... But this scene seems so peaceful, one would never know!

I should in truth say "snowmobile" instead of "skidoo", but the Québec company Bombardier invented the machines and called them "skidoo". So it's almost a generic name around here...

I give a 7/10 to this photo.

  4. The image is beautiful, so tranquil and still, but it is way to soon to be thinking of winter.;) I hope ours will be mild and short this year, I can not bear another long and difficult one.;))

(no translation needed, I'd say). Put that away NOW. Snow is so unbelievably colder in black and white.

Oh, alright, I like those lacy lines.

  7. @Françoise : Oui, je me souviens fort bien.

  14. @Jenean: If I were a real photographer instead of being a troll, I would say too that I love this photograph that shows that winter can be very cold, very snowy and yet so peaceful!

God, I long for a silent forest in winter, with snow shoes of course, the falling snow killing all sounds. Nothing moving...

    Only the silent nature,

    Roger
