I took the initial photograph three years ago I think, but I was never satisfied with the results I got from it. I post-processed it from the RAW file again, starting from fresh. The final image is much more luminous while keeping the essential contrast between the light that strikes the castle and the darker zones around it.

This castle is at the heart of the Touraine region. You are then surrounded by many well-known Touraine vineyards like Chinon, Savennières, Saint-Nicolas-de-Bourgueil, Cour-Cheverny and many others… :-)

  1. This is a wonderful image Roger, I love the shadows (I would of course), and how they are replicated in the reflection. I also like how the image slides to the left and down, taking your eye inevitably to the right center, only to return to the trees on the left and start the trip over.

  5. Beautiful shot and place. As I use the sunrise light very often I will repeat it in the first morning sun... and perhaps less luminous Château... I hope you forgive me for this, after all I am not a pro in photos.. Big hugs my friend
