L'art du portrait, ou comment tricher
Il m'arrive de faire des portraits de gens. La plupart du temps cependant, le modèle n'est qu'un prétexte à une idée que j'ai en tête et la ressemblance du tableau final avec le modèle est parfois très hypothétique.
Ceci étant dit, il est certain que l'utilisation d'un studio présente des avantages évidents dans beaucoup de cas. Mais pour ce que cherche à faire, le studio est plus souvent qu'autrement un obstacle au naturel. Mon studio à moi, c'est Photoshop CC monté sur un Mac Pro dernière génération, le tout petit super-ordinateur en forme de cylindre. Je n'ai pas trouvé beaucoup de limites à ce que je pouvais faire.
Ci-dessous, le portrait original, qui n'est rien d'autre qu'un mauvais instantané. La deuxième version, c'est le portrait final, appelé « Le prédicateur ». :-)

The Art Of Portrait, Or How To Cheat
From time to time, I make real portraits of real people. But most of the time, the model is only that, a model for an idea that I want to develop, and the final result may well be very different from the original.
This being said, it is obvious that using a studio has great advantages and allows the use of special lighting that will take a lot of work to imitate in post-processing. For what I want to do though, a studio will often inhibit my creativity and it can be hard in such a context for someone who is not a professional model to be very natural. My own studio is called Photoshop CC installed on a Mac Pro latest generation, this very small super-computer that looks like a cylinder and is totally silent. I did not find many limits to what I could do with those tools.
The first photo below is nothing else than the original snapshot. The second one is the final result, which is called "The Preacher". :-)

Yea, Yea. Well yes, with some real effort you can take what would normally be a rather poor shot, and completely change it. That is what you did, took a guy talking and turned him into, maybe a fanatic. Well, I always have liked this kind of treatment, as you well know.
