Que dirais-je à propos de ce portrait ? Est-il le résultat d'un important travail de post-traitement ou pas ?

What if I showed you a real flower barely focused because of an almost nonexistent depth of field, what would you say? Come on, don't be petty-minded… :-)

RépondreEffacerhmm... it's a little bit complicate. I've looked at the image in fullscreen mode. Something with his left eye is not OK, the lively reflexes are only on the left and the right pupil is dilated unnatural.

RépondreEffacerYou see, for me every woman is a flower. Every woman - or every child-woman of course. Now this is not a beauty magazine and I don't aim at representing the ideal woman, even if it may seem so from time to time. Women portraits are fantasies…whether they meet beauty standards of the day or not. Fantasies… initial portraits are only that, a starting point. Sometimes my models don't recognise themselves in the finished product! But it's never the point, I always tell them, you're putty in the "hands" of my camera.
Sometimes I aim to surprise, sometimes I am rather to upset or even shock. I admit that I am not an artist, but I know that beauty has only a vague relationship with art.
Women are flowers… is it acceptable to represent flowers out of focus except for a few defining lines, which gives the impression of a perfect flower? I think yes.
Now, what happened here? Is this a heavily modified portrait as Frankie seems to think? The answer is, for once, a plain no. I will dig further into this particular example later, but let's say for the moment:
• This is a child-woman with an absolutely flawless skin. I did nothing to it, I swear.
• And what about the eyes? Well, this child always looks at you, specially at me, that way. That's the way she is. I could have modified the eyes and brought them symmetrical, I chose not. I could have added wrinkles and acne pimples, it's dead easy…
This child-woman is a cute flower, although an imperfect one. I will show how the image came to life in the following days, starting from the original from the 16-bit RAW file.
Thanks for daring to say what you thought, dear Isabella. This is absolutely rare, and I do appreciate, whether I agree or not. BTW I'm still working on the lighting.
@Frankie : Pour ce qui est de la beauté, je ne sais pas trop. Pour ce qui est de l'art cependant, je sais qu'il vient rarement d'un simple déclic sur un bouton. Choisir le bon angle et le bon moment est un jeu d'enfant, presque un automatisme. Les boîtiers ne font pas de l'art. Ils jouent le même rôle qu'in pinceau, tout au plus un instrument pour arriver à une fin. Sauf coup de chance, l'art est en post-traitement.
RépondreEffacerIl y aura toujours une place pour le photo-journalisme, la photo de sport, de guerre, et cetera. Et pour la photo de rue. Mais la création d'images par les moyens électroniques bouleverse actuellement tout le champ des arts visuels.
