Bonne chance.

Picasa may wreak havoc with your pictures!
If you are using Picasa from Google as a picture server, beware! Make sure that the pictures you upload on Picasa are saved using the sRGB colour profile and nothing else. If you use any other colour profile, like the Adobe RGB profile used by professionals and knowledgeable photographers, the result may well be atrocious.
The top left picture is the original with the Adobe RGB colour profile. To the right, the result one can see in Picasa! horrendous, that's the word. The only way not to meet with that kind of problem in Picasa is to convert to the sRGB profile before uploading. I simply cannot believe it.
Picasa is not the only photo website to massacre pictures. Photo.net does not do much better. PBase.com, on the other hand, will treat your pictures decently whatever the colour profile.
Good luck, friends.

    Hello Suzanne,

If I am not mistaken, you shoot in sRGB whether you're using the RAW or the jpeg format, which is possible with your Canon 400D. So you will get very good results because you're shooting in sRGB when you are using the RAW format. I am not surprised that you then get good results with it, and of course the files are kind of big... :-) You would have to downsize them before uploading.

Hae a look at your cameras menus to check if you are indeed shooting in sRGB. hat would be interesting.

Your bookmark is not pointing at the right page, Hélène. Make a new one, making sure that you are at the home page of the blog (http://artphotokebek.blogspot.com)
