France and USA: Different Countries, Different Religions

For anyone living in Québec, it always come as a surprise to see the contempt and the prejudice against Americans common to many people in France. On the other hand, it also comes as a surprise to see that most Americans have the same contempt and prejudice - against the French, and with a vengeance!

An ocean of mutual distrust and incomprehension, no doubt. Starting from there, anything is possible.

After all, the Americans are often very strange and sometimes downright incomprehensible. And the same could certainly be said about the French, that's for sure.

And To Each His Own Religion!

Oh yes, to each its own religion that negates all scientific principles. I'm looking at things with a cold, scientific eye. For those of you that don't know, I am first and above all a bona fide scientist, with a Ph.D. in organic chemistry and biochemistry, and scientific reasoning is my true language and… religion, perhaps. It governs the way I look at the whole universe.

I was saying, it's all a matter of religion. The Americans, a good number of them at least, believe in creationism instead of evolution, the world having been created six thousand years ago. This is of course absurd and against all modern science principles and archeology. Almost every scientist knows that.

But the French aren't any better! A good number of them believe in homeopathy, thus rejecting all the main principles of modern science. Yep, this is the French religion, homeopathy. It cannot work, no way, sorry to say this to my numerous French friends. It is as if I told you that an Airbus cannot fly, or that the TGV rides upside down.

It comes as no surprise to see such mistrust between the French and the Americans, each locked in its own beliefs…

In a future post, I will show how Boiron and Lehning are losing numerous class action law suits in many countries including Canada and the US. I will denounce the Angipax made by Lehning and l'Oscillococcinum made by Boiron, two misleading and totally ineffective products.

And hopefully, all of us will remain in good terms, better understanding each other. :-)

  4. L’année dernière j’ai lu un livre, en anglais, écrit par un Canadien Jean-Benoit Nadeau, intitulé “60 million Frenchmen can’t be wrong – Why we love France but not the French.”
