Il est toujours émouvant de voir le soleil se coucher sur le Saguenay.

Petit lexique

« Saguenay » peut prendre trois sens différents :

• La région du Saguenay. On dit alors « le Saguenay », ou le « Saguenay-Lac-Saint-Jean ». On va au Saguenay, ou on monte au Saguenay.

• La rivière ou le fjord Saguenay. On parle alors du Saguenay. Dans la région, on dit souvent simplement « le fjord ».

• La ville de Saguenay. On va à Saguenay, on visite Saguenay, qui se trouve au Saguenay, et qui est traversée par le Saguenay… Pas toujours facile de parler « Saguenéen » !

It is always moving to see a sunset over the Saguenay River.

A Glossary:

"Saguenay" may mean one of three things:

• The Saguenay region. One visits the Saguenay, or the Saguenay-Lac-Saint-Jean (Saguenay-Lake-St.-John should not be used).

• The Saguenay River, which is a Fjord. People will say "the Saguenay". In the region, people often simply say "the Fjord".

• The City of Saguenay. One visits Saguenay, or the city of Saguenay, or Saguenay City, which is in the Saguenay region,, and which is on both banks of the Saguenay. It sin't easy, but it's beautiful and thoroughly French-speaking.
