The Dorwin Falls - Part 2

Photographing Into The Light: How To Solve Problems…

I was positioned with the sun coming right in my face when I shot those photographs. This is often an unworkable situation. The second photograph is the unmodified shot right from my camera. I swear, there is no way to print this image and get a result that you will proudly hang on a wall in huge format. No way.

But if you do have a very good camera and work in RAW format instead of jpeg. the art of post-processing will save your your day and your work. You will be able to recreate a very good image, quite similar to the one your mind thought it had seen.

I could have reduced the colour of the ferruginous waters of this river, a colour that changes quite a lot with the sun's position and angle. I chose not to though. Artist's privilege we call it.
