4. Photo d'art : Photoshop CC et RAW
Il est de ces jours où les conditions sont abominables et l'échec fort probable. Par exemple, photographier un objet, un oiseau, un insecte contre un ciel blanc donnera presque certainement une photo pourrie. Votre seule planche de salut est Photoshop CC et un fichier RAW.
Il m'est impossible d'expliquer en détail pourquoi il en est ainsi ou comment fonctionner dans Photoshop pour y arriver, cela serait beaucoup trop long. Disons ceci : si vous maîtrisez Photoshop à 50 %, vous êtes bons. À 75 %, vous êtes un expert et vous pouvez faire ce travail sans difficulté, mais il faut des années de travail pour arriver à ce niveau. Pas de magie…
La photo ci-dessous montre un papillon situé en hauteur contre un affreux ciel blanc. En format jpeg, sans Photoshop, c'est une cause perdue : il n'y a pas assez d'information et l'appareil photo aura de toute façon pris le contrôle dans un premier traitement hors de votre contrôle.
Ici, j'ai dû recréer les effets d'une deuxième source d'éclairage pour obtenir un résultat décent. Je ne prétends pas que la photo vaut la peine d'être imprimée en grand format, mais elle est tout de même devenue intéressante malgré ses lacunes.
La deuxième photo montre ce que le capteur a donné, sans aucun post-traitement.

4. Art Photo : Photoshop CC And RAW
Some days, light conditions are simply atrocious using a camera seems rather futile. If you're trying, say, to photograph an object, a bird, an insect against a white sky, you will most probably end up with a bad shot. The only way out of such a mess is Photoshop CC and RAW files.
I simply cannot explain in detail why it is so or how to proceed with Photoshop in order to get good results, it would take way too much time. Let's say that if you know Photoshop at 50 percent, you're already good. At 75 percent, you're an expert and you can do this work without problem, but it takes years to reach such a level. There is no magic here.
Below, I photographed a butterfly against a white sky, a real calamity. Without Photoshop and in jpeg format, you cannot do it: there is not enough info and the camera will already have made a first processing whatever you do.
I am not saying that the resulting photo is good enough to be printed in large format, but it is now nonetheless an interesting photo. I had to recreate the effects of a second light source to obtain that result, no small feat.
The second photo shows the image as it came out of the camera, without any post-processing.
