The Old Tree Rethought / Le vieil arbre revu

The Old Tree Rethought

Here is the last version - for the time being - of The Old Tree. If you look at the dialog at the end of this post, you will see that this is the result of cumulative, non-destructive, multi-layered dodging and burning.

I also included its mirror image. One can see that the two pictures seem quite different, at least for some persons. I do not know if this depends on the fact that one is left-handed or right-handed.

I've looked and looked at both pictures. The sky is much heavier on one. Also, like Suzanne, I feel that the mirror picture is moving differently. I wonder if we could be influenced by the fact that the mirror tree is leaning on its right "arm" and thus would be trying to raise itself?

There is proibably a link between this and the fact for example that we write from left to right (in the western world), or something like that. At the left, the old man is falling. At the right, he is trying to get up..,,
