BTW, this is a very good metho...Excellent, Patrick! BTW, this is a very good method because it is non-destructive ( the original pixels, i.e, the background layer, are unmodified). Hiding the adjustment layer shows the original picture.

One should always save such a picture in psd format (Photoshop) in order to retain the layers info. To create the corresponding jpeg picture, one has to flatten the image first, thus crushiing the original pixels. You should always retain both the psd and the jpeg file in such a case.

I love the result... :-)

••••••••••••••••••••••••
Excellent, Patrick !

RogerGRoger Gauthierhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01690736289188945063noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4731100500338248454.post-46878408460349681022009-01-25T22:22:00.000-05:002009-01-25T22:22:00.000-05:00Whoops, lets try this again.Try this link.PatrickWhoops, lets try this again.

Try this link.

PatrickAnonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4731100500338248454.post-32652859753430794102009-01-25T21:46:00.000-05:002009-01-25T21:46:00.000-05:00Here's a link to a down sampled version:http://peo...Here's a link to a down sampled version:

http://people.ee.duke.edu/~pcc/sans-nom-1sm.jpg

I'm not much of a writer, good luck understanding it.

The left half has been left unaltered for comparison, my Curves adjustment might not be the best but I think you can get the idea. First add the Curves adjustment layer and adjust to slightly darken the area in question (ignoring what it does to the rest of the image). The Curves adjustment layer will already have a layer mask, after selecting the layer mask, use a linear gradient tool (G) (black to white), then click and drag, from about 3/4 of the way up to about 1/4 off the bottom. If the gradient doesn't quite work out to your liking, Cmd-Z and repeat the drag of the gradient.

PatrickAnonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4731100500338248454.post-13968676317765338882009-01-25T18:24:00.000-05:002009-01-25T18:24:00.000-05:00Tu sais que les images ne sont pas mon fort quoiqu...Tu sais que les images ne sont pas mon fort quoique cette image peut en dire long sur l'auteur, je ne m'y attarderai pas, j'aime cent fois mieux tes photos....Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4731100500338248454.post-40545499424001563012009-01-25T15:59:00.000-05:002009-01-25T15:59:00.000-05:00Now that you've said it, Patrick, I see what you m...Now that you've said it, Patrick, I see what you mean.
