Question de goût.
••••••••••••••••••••
Hey Stéphane, you don't like the third one? I knew it... The first one is not a great shot as you say. Something's amiss, but I like it anyway... a matter of personal taste. As far as the second one is concerned. you are right, all my pictures should be looked at full screen. They are made that way and otherwise they lose a lot. And the bench, yes, is the key IMHO.
RogerG :-)Roger Gauthierhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01690736289188945063noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4731100500338248454.post-7998584866313528242009-02-06T16:18:00.000-05:002009-02-06T16:18:00.000-05:003rd one , not my cuppa tea... so wont say anything...3rd one , not my cuppa tea... so wont say anything...
1ere, hum.....I get the mood, I like it, but maybe the composition is a little too tight? dont know...
2eme, premiere fois que je l'ai regarde, je n'aimais pas.... mais je l'ai regarder en grand, et je la trouve de plus en plus interessante.... elle me donne envis d'etre assis sur le banc pour observer cette scene.....Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4731100500338248454.post-77030844095617568172009-02-06T08:33:00.000-05:002009-02-06T08:33:00.000-05:00Hello Tommy,Awfully glad to see your contribution ...Hello Tommy,
Awfully glad to see your contribution here. I too think that the second one has some potential. Wait for my next post later today, with new versions, and a bit about the how and the why of the new pictures. :-)
It could take several hours, there is still a lot of work to do.
•••••••••••••••••
Salut Tommy,
RogerGRoger Gauthierhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01690736289188945063noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4731100500338248454.post-63929555624299431482009-02-06T02:09:00.000-05:002009-02-06T02:09:00.000-05:00Hi Roger!I sure like number two here. I guess this is an old mill, isnt it?

Number three.
Hmm, well what can I say, could nicely fit on a big wall if in a huge format. My thoughts goes directly to those electrical "towers" in a landscape.

/TommyAnonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4731100500338248454.post-31757132119074739812009-02-05T20:18:00.000-05:002009-02-05T20:18:00.000-05:00omigod! I'm not to fond of sepia in this case and would prefer b&w. To me b&w conveys more of a cold winter feel. IMO sepia is more for summer and old pictures, like the ones they would take of you and me, Roger. One subject is the lone tree, but I see a second picture within, of the landscape. Not a rave like the second photo though.

I love the second photo, a definite keeper. I see so many things in this one. I love the random non-symmetrical placement and size of the windows in the closest building. The texture and stonework is a real eye pleaser. The smooth snow with a, what appears to be, stream running through it. The lonely bench, waiting for people sitting by the stream in the shade of the now bare trees. The dark section, of the barn, with it's ominous windows. What's in there? The trees serve as a slightly angular juxtaposition. I don't think they look prominent because they are ordinary, but balance the photo in value with everything else. I think it took your talent to see this and follow through to capture it like you did. I very much like this photo. Ya did good, bud!

The third photo. I'm gonna take your Photoshop filters away when I see you. *puts head in hands and shakes it slowly* lolAnonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4731100500338248454.post-81007893069471507882009-02-05T18:20:00.000-05:002009-02-05T18:20:00.000-05:00Salut mon cousin Roger !C'est toujours un plaisir ...Salut mon cousin Roger !

Bises depuis l'Alsace lointaine... I am not too fond of the first photograph. The tree in the foreground bothers me a bit, and there is no real central point of interest in the farm buildings and the windbreak formed by the trees. The third photograph is bordering on cubism, and in this case doesn't appeal to me. However, the National Gallery might be willing to pay big bucks for a wall-size poster! I've seen a lot worse on their walls. The second photograph can easily be overlooked, but I believe it has enormous potential, if you brigthen the snow to make it look white, as it should, and improve the contrast. It is too flat, yet it has the makings of an Ansel Adams shot!
